Blackwater is household wastewater that contains toilet waste and may include kitchen sink waste also. Greywater, in contrast, comes from showers, bathroom basins and laundry. Many household drainage systems combine blackwater and greywater, so our pumps are designed to handle both, efficiently transferring wastewater in lifestyle blocks, rural homes and off-grid properties.

Our blackwater pumps are submersible and come in four main types, designed to suit the solids and materials commonly flushed down toilets:

1. Grinder pumps: Grinds solid waste into a fine slurry for pumping through smaller or pressurised pipe systems.
2. Cutter pumps: Cuts and shreds fibrous materials that could otherwise cause blockages.
3. Vortex pumps: Uses a swirling whirlpool action to move effluent waste with minimal contact with the impeller, helping reduce blockages.
4. Channel pumps: Designed to efficiently pass solids (faeces and toilet paper) without clogging.

The type of pump you need depends on what typically goes down the toilet. Sanitary products, wet wipes and fibrous materials are common causes of pump issues, so selecting the right pump type is critical for reliable operation. The Calpeda GQG grinder submersible pump features a built in grinder that efficiently shreds long fibres, textiles and soft solids before pumping. The Zenit GR series is a group of submersible cast iron Impeller grinder pumps with a triangular rotary cutter assembly is in the base to cut solid particles and fibres.  Maximum immersion depth 10m. Made in Italy.

This Shift CE effluent sewage cutter pump series includes 0.4, 0.75 and 1.5 kW options. They are suitable for raw sewage transferring and grey/black water transferring. It is ideal for lifting raw effluent into town/city sewerage network. The pump comes complete with a single float, discharge connector and a 10m power cable.

These Evak EWSS submersible stainless steel vortex pumps are designed to pump toilet waste (blackwater) and are suitable for on site effluent systems in rural and lifestyle properties. This pump comes complete with a float switch for automatic operation and a 10m power cable for easy installation. Off the shelf range includes 07VX and 10VX.

The Hippo submersible vortex pumps are built for blackwater in on site wastewater systems for rural and lifestyle properties. Its vortex impeller moves solids efficiently through the side discharge, while the stainless steel housing and float switch ensure reliable, automatic operation. Available in A50 and A75 off the shelf.

Lowara Domo VX7, V10 and VX15 are stainless steel submersible vortex pumps designed for pumping toilet waste (blackwater) in on site wastewater systems for rural and lifestyle properties. Their vortex impeller passes solids from 35mm to 50mm through the side discharge, minimising impeller contact. Single phase models include a float switch for automatic operation.

Suitable for treated water, general water transfer,irrigation. We stock aeration pumps also know as septic air pumps for treament plants sewerage systems. 

These high efficiency ultra quiet air pumps provide a steady airflow with a low energy consumption. Designed for aerating sewage treatment plants and can be used for fish tanks or clean air flow requirements. They are single phase and have a magnetic diaphragm with grease free components.
